We have an in ground 15,000 gal. pool. T cell stopped working, but we added too much salt before we figured that out. Replaced T cell, drained it down, added more water, salt level got to 5000, T cell started working and turned the water a translucent yellowish/light brownish color. Added shock, but water is still discolored. Water is very clear, just tinted. All levels are within range except for bromine is high. Any suggestions?

Welcome to TFP!

Clear transparent yellow after adding chlorine is almost always iron in the water. The first thing to do is to balance all of your levels, especially PH and CYA. If that doesn't take care of it, add a startup dose of sequestrant.

Thank you!
Just checked and PH is low. We were thinking iron, but this is the first time this has happened in the 5 years we've had the pool.
Glad I found this forum! So much information!
