Take the amount needed to reach 30CYA and hang it from a sock in front of the returns. After about an hour start to squeeze it to help it dissolve. You can go ahead and keep adding chlorine as the CYA dissolves. Don't bother testing the CYA for about a week, as even though it works as soon as its in the water, it takes time to show up on a test.

we couldnt see the bottom Saturday morning, as of Sunday morning, yup the next day we have been looking at this, the pic can't do it justice its so clear....

Shop vac is easiest, don't dump you could break your laterals.

It didn't hurt mine, I never let it get full, usually about half and then emptied. Mine had been drained for about a year so was fairly dry.
