name for thing to stand on for short kids

Reading threw probally 50-75 threads here.... I ran acros where someone built a deck and steps to a platform so their little ones could play in their intex.
My brain is in overload....lol

I cant remember the proper name of this platform?
It sits down in the pool for a shallow spot.

Also...anyone built somwthing like this? I searched and the prices were crazy to buy a new one.

I have a 14' x 42" and the four year old is a couple inches short to be able to walk i pool.....so I was thinking of building a platform to cover maybe shy of 1/2 of the floor. Any suggestions?

I did a search here and the consensus seems to be that nobody's been successful. There was mention of plastic pallets, but no success story. And I seem to recall someone last year tried something using a plastic-topped church table with the metal legs removed. http://www.lowes.com/pd_293449-88126-80 ... 160&rpp=32
