We had our pool dug today, and are expecting rebar within the next 2 days hopefully. The PB convinced us to do a water depth of 3’6” to 5’6” to give us a more gradual/subtle slope as well as more ‘playing’ room. I’m suddenly so super concerned that 5’6” water depth (pool depth 6’) is too shallow for the deep end.. will it still be fun for the kids jumping in? How about for a taller adult swimming laps? If it makes any difference, our pool is 17’x40’ (minus a 6’ sundeck). I know I’m a bit late in the game to have these worries.. but the further along we go, the harder it’ll be to change anything if at all still possible..
Thanks all!

5.5 ft is fine for swimming laps. Adults that may cannonball in may hit the bottom.
My pool is 5.5ft in the middle (sports pool) and is fine. Younger children can dive to pick up rings, etc for games.
