I need help. please. Yes, I did it to myself and it was stupid--I left he pump outside all winter. Got ready to start cleaning the pool today and all I can get is a hum.

I tried removing the basket and reaching in to check the impeller, but I can't reach the impeller. Tried turning shaft (which is rusted--ty, swg) with pliers and don't think it's turning (very tight space, so hard to know for sure).

Is there an easy way to get to the impeller or am I going to have to take it apart?

Thanks!!

If you can't turn the shaft then the bearings in the motor is likely the culprit. I suggest removing the pump from the plumbing and see if you have any better luck turning it. If you'd rather you can take the impeller housing apart, but it's usually just as easy to remove it from the plumbing.
