Wow... I am very clear on my opinion! I hate my cartridge filter! I have a Jandy 350, puchased with only three weeks of swimming left for the year. I opened my pool two weeks ago and this is the second time I have had to clean it in two weeks. Yes, start ups for me are tough... I live in PA and have a mesh pool cover! In eighteen years, whether I do closing or professionals do closing, my pool is green. Last year I followed this sites closing recommendations. My DE filter was awesome. Backwashed frequently at start up and took it apart to close! Why would anyone get a cartridge?
