Please help....12'x32" Summer Escapes/Krystal Klear filter

How did you connect your Summer Escapes skimmer outlet to the sand filter?

We also want to add a new intake opening on the bottom of the pool to go to the filter.

DH wants to adapt and connect the skimmer filter to the filter hose that goes from the new intake hose and to the sand filter. I'm not a plumber and neither is he. We're both frustrated trying to figure out how to do this.

Connector sizes used, step by step directions and pics would be appreciated.
