Hi from Australia. I'm desperate for some help with our Intex Sand Filter 2650.
We are newbies to swimming pools and purchased our first pool in Dec 2011 and finally installed it in March 2012.
The pool filter has been working each time we used it until late April when we stopped using it due
to an unwell child (pool furthest thing from our minds).
Pool was going green with floating algae so we did a shock treatment as per bottle of chlorine we had from our local pool store
and turned filter on. Also added a product we have in Australia called Crystal Clear. Turned filter on last night with timer on for 12 hours.
Came out this morning and pool much clearer but the filter will not run properly. The outlet flows with whatever water is in the tank but the inlets are not sucking any water into the filter.
Filter will turn on for around 15-20 seconds then turns off with a burning motor smell. :grrrr:
We have
1. Undone, emptied and done up every hose and connection. Have also checked each hose for debris
2. Taken skimmer basket hose off the connection so that only the outlet is visible and is completely underwater. (all outlets and inlets underwater)
3. Have opened the sand filter and there is sufficient sand in the barrel.
Is there anything we have missed. Filter just out of warranty and don't particularly want to replace it.
Appreciate any help we can get.
Thanks
