I am trying to stay ahead of the installation here and have a question. I am going to pour a concrete pad for my pump and filter. I won't get my pool till this Sat and I want to go ahead and lay the pad. I know where I want the pad, but what distance should I put the pad away from the pool without having the pump and filter yet?

Put it where it is functional and aesthetically pleasing to you. The horizontal distance from the pool is (almost) not relevant but the vertical distance above or below the water level of the pool is very important if your pool is an IG. If this is an AG pool, the installers may have limitations on the amount of pipe they have....check with them.

Put it where you want it. They should run 1-1/2" hard pipe to that pool and I'd make them bury it between the pad & pool. In fact, that's what I did! :-D
