Recommendations for Light Niche Replacement

I have fought a leaking light niche for two seasons, and I'm ready to admit defeat. The plastic niche is cracked, and I've sealed it with putty twice, only to have the crack get bigger and the pool to leak again. It's a gunite pool.

My questions are:

1) I'm willing to replace the light as well in order to go color LED. Recommendations for what to put in?

2) How much should it cost me to have someone replace the light and niche?

3) Is it difficult to replace the niche and not have and problems with leaking around it?

4) Plastic or metal niche?

Niches don't crack without a reason. Something is moving the gunite. That needs to be corrected first.

Plastic flexes, metal doesn't as much. Plastic isn't as effected by chemistry as metal. Plastic wins.
