Catridge Filter Hayward C5025 Question

Tomorrow I am replacing my DE filter with a new cartridge filter. I have a open bag of DE which was just opened. I see you can add DE to a sand Filter just a small amount to filter better. Can you do this with a cartridge filter?

While some cartridge filters are designed to allow the addition of DE I don't think the 5025 is. I wouldn't do it as it may clog the pores of the media permanently.

If anyone is in the houston area looking for some DE, I will be giving away my almost new bag of DE. It was only used one time and opened about a week ago. I believe it is a 25 lb bag. I may also have a pretty new backwash handle as well which is the newer ones that are welded together and no plastic.
