I have a Goldline T-15 cell and in the set-up menu it asks me set an "instant salt" level. What does this mean?

The salt reading on the display is an average over the last 24 hours. When you first install the unit it hasn't averaged anything yet so it won't display the salt level. You can get around this by using an "instant" salt number (which is less precise) and putting that into the running average as if it was the average over the last 24 hours. That gets you a rough approximation of the salt level right away, instead of needing to wait 24 hours.
