Anyone know what this is?

We just purchased a house with a 15 year old in ground pool. We had a salt generator installed and we had the interior redone with pebble tech, dual drains installed, the tile redone and new jandy valves installed.

I noticed this old unit in the pool equipment area. It is not connected to the breaker box anymore but it is still wired to the pump.

Is this this worth keeping or can I remove it entirely?

We have a bead filter, a 2HP pump the salt generator (new) and a heater.

The pool is about 20k gallons.

That is a copper ionizer system for adding copper to the water. It is probably wired so that it can only come on when the pump is on. I recommend removing it.
