After what we are going through with our inground pool I feel compelled to write this post . If it prevents one other family from having a disaster in their back yard like we have. First off we checked references , we were showed a paper that was our pb license and insurance , the problem is we did not verify this info through our state board. DO THIS!! Our pb was very likable and we thought honest and hard working. KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL!! Watch every step of construction. Be sure EVERY support arm is in place, that your steps are supported properly , and that your pool is BACKFILLED PROPERLY. Make sure you have good drainage away from your pool , And that your concrete is being poured under the right conditions , and that the ground beneath it has been filled--compacted and is not going to settle anymore. These simple things will save you a lot of headaches down the road. If you question a part of the construction ask ,ask, ask until you find someone who can tell you if this is being done correctly. If your pb seems offended that you are questioning him then you probably need to ask more questions. A reputable builder will welcome your questions and be eager to answer them. Everyone we know who has a pool LOVES IT , we are just an example of what can go wrong .
