My husband and I have an large above ground Splash pool, installed about 4 yrs ago. We swim our 3 German Shepherds about 10 months of the year and ourselves about 5. 2 of our girls are older and the pool really helps maintain their youth and mobility. Plus, its fun! :-D We have an Aqua Shield lexan cover over the pool and use propane to keep it up to about 60 in all but the coldest months to allow the dogs to swim. We had solar installed last summer and also have a solar blanket. We have always used Baquacil, but are considering changing and have lots of questions. I will find the right spot to post my questions about that next!
