I have a wisperflo pump system, and i can see small amount of water coming out from around the pump basket/lid area. I have just replaced a broken filter basket, and the o ring seems to be in good condition. Is this something i should worry about, and if it is does anyone now how i can fix it. Thanks.

Try some silicone pool lube around the o-ring. Make sure the o-ring is seated well in the lid, and be sure to push the lid all the way on. It should not leak.
