1st Year Owner - Pool Closed - Thank You!

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks to the forum members for all the help.

We just closed our above ground pool for the winter (water 62 F so hopefully it will be ok) and ended the 1st season of use. Thanks to this forum, we went the entire season only adding bleach and stabilizer and never had a single problem with algae. (Our only problem all year was the terrible sand that came with the filter, which we ended up replacing 2 weeks in with regular filter sand.)

You will be fine as your cover (tarp) is solid & not mesh. Can you please advise what you did prior to closing the pool? Did you raise to SLAM and close, or did you SLAM the pool, allow your levels to drift down and use a Poly60 algaecide?

We raised to SLAM levels and closed with solid cover, then put a mesh cover over the solid cover which we will remove after the leaves stop falling.
