Good Morning. I just finished my 1st closing and have a couple of questions. I used a Cyclone blower with a threaded fitting from the skimmer and blew out the lines from there. I lowered the water level below the skimmer and both returns. When blowing out the returns I let the cyclone blow for about 1 1/2 minutes then plugged one of the returns and then held my hand over the other return for about 6-7 seconds and let go. This would cause a small amount of water to ‘burp’ out. I did this 3 times to help purge as much water as I could from the returns. I then added approx 1/2 gallon of antifreeze to each of the returns before plugging the lines. Should I be worried about the possibility of additional water remaining in the lines? Also, I used expanding rubber plugs that the pool company used last year when closing. These plugs stick out from the pool wall. Should I worry about ice dislodging the plugs? I have attached a picture of the installed plug. Thanks!!
