Good day everyone, new pool owner here from colder parts of Canada🍁👋 getting ready to close the pool for winter season.

I only have previous experience with hot tub which was fairly easy to balance water and maintain over the years.

I've been doing lot's of reading and watching videos online, even though I'm mechanically inclined and opened up the pool myself, still much appreciate piece of mind getting some assistance identifying my Jandy setup and in which order I should be blowing out the lines etc..

I'm going to upload pictures of the complete setup with pipes, Jandy pumps, Jandy cartridge filter, Jandy valve, other valves with unions and old school blower I believe previous owner used to blow out the lines?

Any advices on how to achieve this result in most effective ways is much appreciated.

18x38 pool with vinyl liner
28,000 us gallons
AquaLink RS controller
Chlorine generator cell
Raypak propane heater
1 Jandy filter pump
1 Jandy waterfall pump
2 skimmers
2 eyeball returns

Winter closing kit
2 gizzmos
2 return plugs

Welcome to TFP! Be sure to visit our closing page below if you haven't seen it already. You appear to have several entry points to the plumbing, so blowing out the suction and pressure sides shouldn't be a problem IF that blower can do it for you. That would be my biggest concern - if the blower has enough CFM to clear the lines. But post back and let us know what specific questions you might have and we'll be glad to go into details.

Hey KLZE and welcome !!!

How much can you disassemble at the equipment side without making too much of a mess ? You either need to blow both halves separately towards the pool, or blow the skimmer straight through the whole system and out the returns. It takes a strong blower to do it that way, and yours may/may not be up to the task.

Thanks for the link the closing page has lot's of useful information.

What kind of cfm are we looking for to blow out all of the water from lines? I also have a decent size air compressor if that's any better.

Trying to figure out where and how you guys connect your blowers because I might need to get some adapters to have tight enough connection?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Well it looks like I can pretty much take any of the unions apart and get access.

So now just need the right amount of air and adapter to make the connection.

I would disconnect enough to have room to work on both sides and blow here for the pumps

And here for the return

The leaf blower pipe should be about the right size to duct tape it to the pool plumbing. A few wraps on both halves is fine, it won't be under alot of pressure.

OK thanks!!
That sounds pretty straight forward will report back once I attempt this in couple of weeks.

I also need to confirm with you guys the correct position of the Jandy Valve Actuator? outside of the pump house when blowing out the return side.
