Automatic Pool Cover reccomendations, experience, price

Looking to upgrade my 1973 vintage 20 X 40 gunite pool. We are looking at upgrades and are thinking about an automatic cover. Does anyone have experience with APC (Automatic Pool Covers Inc. - Indiana)?

For a complete installation including recessed track, concrete housing pit, and stone lid what price range is reasonable? For the lid stone material we are considering bluestone.

For an autocover, especially in pricey LI, NY, I'd venture to guess you'll easily pay $12-$15,000. What price safety though, if you want to imagine putting a price on something but... It is a big chunk of change.

Would I ever go without one ? Nope, not if I can help it! It sure takes the worry out of unintended or uninvited pool guests.

Jvolv, we retrofitted a plaster pool (actually a Clayton-Lambert) this year with an APC cover. Ours has the track over the deck with a recessed motor, didn't think we could get a recessed track on a retrofit. No problems so far. About $11k.
