Just fired my pool guy.

I hired my pool guy after feeling like I couldn't get my pool under control. After he had me drain 1/3 of the pool twice because I went bananas with chlorine pucks and made my CYA levels so high they were unreadable, I started to pay attention. Fast forward a year later. Pool maintenance companies need to make money. Things that weren't broken started to "break". Things were being misdiagnosed that would cost hundreds to fix. I didn't buy any of them, and I finally got fed up with them trying to scam me or just not knowing what they're doing. Seems like the best person to maintain a pool is someone who lives with it.

Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forum! Being in control is step #1 for sure. Make sure to use either a TF-100 (link below) or Taylor K-2006C test kit to keep those levels good. If you haven't seen it yet, checkout our ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry page and read/save those Vital Links below in my signature. They'll come in handy. Have a great day.
