V-Green 165 VS purchased in May of 2016. This means it's only run for 8 months or so of swimming season. The motor is screaming like a banshee.

Any suggestions for a more reliable VS pump would be appreciated. Is there a unit that can be easily controlled remotely without buying into an expensive proprietary automation platform?

c,

You could use the Pentair SuperFlo VS which can be controlled from the pump's internal timer or using 4 relay inputs. Basically, the pump makes 5 VDC which can be sent to a relay. When the relay closes it sends the 5 volts back to the pump, telling the pump to run a x RPM.. You can have up to 4 relays / speeds.

The SuperFlo VS has 1.5" connections and comes with pump unions.

Thanks,

Jim R.
