The science of the alkalinity range for SWG

Can somebody explain the science of this? Here’s why I ask. I have had my alkalinity from 60-90 and my PH is EXACTLY the same with everything else in my pool the same. Ie I’m comparing apples to apples. In the morning I lower my ph to 7.2. Retest to verify. Two mornings later test. PH 7.7. Redo... it’s the same thing no matter what the alkalinity is in this range!

hiwever with that said I’d rather keep at 80 as the CSI is better at this value.

if it matters:
FC:5.5
FC:0
CYA:70
CH:300

The aeration in the SWG drives the pH up.
Lowering the TA to 50-60ppm should slow the rise.

Also the pH will rise faster from low 7s than it will in the upper 7s.

So, maybe try to work the TA down and then keep the pH higher in the 7.8-8 range.

Somehow right now with my SWG running, my pH does not seem to be rising above 7.8 (which is strange from what I recall from 2 years ago ... did not run SWG last year).
