Hi. Just joined today and about to start the same conversion. Our ph too is 7 and we have cl from the store were about to dump in. The swim store didn't mention anything about checking cl levels regularly just dose with 5 gals of cl every day for 5 days or until the color stops changing. Does the us sound like sound advise?

Welcome to TFP!

Unfortunately, that is absolutely not sound advice. With a baqua to chlorine conversion the last thing you want to do is just dump in chlorine and then say "done" after a few days. Different pools have different amounts of baquacil left in them and there is no "just do this and it will be fixed" advice here. Sadly this is the kind of thing we expect from a pool store and one of several reasons we don't have very high opinions of them in general.

As posted above, we have a process that will get all the baquacil out of the pool and convert it to chlorine completely, while also putting you on the path of following TFPC which offers a much better swimming experience than either baqua or the stereotypical chlorine pool most people think of when they think chlorine. There is some preparation required, but it is well worth it to make sure it is done correctly and you are ready for your chlorine pool afterwards.

Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions. I see the mods have moved this to your own thread, which is good so you can get answers specifically to your conversion if you run in to any bumps in the road.
