I am looking at replacing the 2HP motor on my Whisperflo WF-8 pump with that of a variable speed motor. I am trying to do my due diligence and need advice.
Keep in mind I'll not be operating this at the higher speeds as I don't actually use the attached spa as a spa, and there is a separate booster type thing (technical term, I've only used in once since I've lived here) if I really need bubbles.
I have seen motors that are rated from .5-1.5 HP and also .5-3 HP. I have 2" piping. Which one do I need to go with that does not involve me having to change the impeller, or do I need to change the impeller regardless, and to what size? (the impeller part is what is getting me confused.)
Thanks in advance!
