Frozen water level above gizmo in skimmer

Wondering how concerned I should be that the water level is above the skimmer gizmo and the pool is frozen solid. There has been no chance to drain the pool since its been frozen and it keeps raining and refreezing. Thought about drilling through and draining but don't want to create a void below the ice where the ice might cause damage from being suspended.

I ended up drilling holes to separate the skimmer and then drained pool. Used a sledge hammer to break ice at jets so the ice wouldn't break them

Stuff all available space in skimmer throat with a pieces of pool noodles, this will displace water/ice & prevent the skimmer throat from acting as a fulcrum when water/ice levels rise of drop..

Btw
A plugged “jet” in a liner pool is not at risk from interior ice. If using wing nut plugs, be sure to have nuts at 6 & 12:00 position.
