above ground 24ft. 52" filter hayward E100 sand and hayward power-flo LX with 1.5hp. sand in bottom pool thro return hose. is this a sign my motor is to large for filter. have been used to DE filter, this is my first sand filter. jhgreer43
Hard to say. Your pump is bigger than it needs to be, but there are many possible reasons for the sand in the pool. Wrong sand in the filter, too much sand in the filter, bad multiport gasket and damaged filter laterals are possibilities. Is this a new install or a new problem?
