Planning phase of pool install - Here to learn(first timer)

Hi all,

I'm here to do some reading on pool design, equipment options, and pros and cons of any given aspect of design. I hope to pick your brains when needed and I'll be sharing the process of the build as we get underway.

Currently, we are brainstorming what we want from our backyard from pool/spa to patio and will be calling some contractors in when we have our ideas in order.

Howdy, neighbor!

While you're thinking.... pay attention to the breezes in your yard. It's a major sore point for me that my skimmer is perpendicular to the wind. Another ten feet of underground plumbing and it could be at the downwind end of the pool so everything would naturally end up in there instead of blowing right on past to collect, get waterlogged, and sink for me to vacuum.

Great point you made there. I'll keep that in mind. We are getting going here with a few pool contractors lined up to come by and meet with us.
