Something blew up...

I was out of the country for about a week and when I got home my wife informed me that the pool hadn't been running for a few days. I don't know what happened, but I went out and took a look and saw the back motor casing had sort of blown up. The electricity was still running to the pump (supposed to be on at the time I found it) and it was hot to the touch and smelled like smoke. Any clue what I should look at first, or is this something that I should call in an expert on?20170525_220107.jpg

You should be able to find a capacitor for about $10.00.

It’s easy. Just turn off power, pry out the capacitor from the cover and remove the wires.

Be careful as capacitors can sometimes be charged or rupture.
