Under water light identification and replacement.

double question. First is there a way to identify the light before pulling it? The thought of pulling identify, replacing, ordering, pulling, replacing.... does not appeal to me .

Second question is what are some options/ suggestions in the LED sector? Multi- light, changing color, etc?

Most pool lights on an inground vinyl are made to be replaced from the pool deck. You loosen the cover screw, unscrew the light assembly and pull it up onto the deck. From there you can identify and replace.

So pulling it, identifying it and then installing it again is no big deal or is it safe to pull it and leave it on the deck while I wait for the new one to come in?

Yep!. Kill all the power all the time and it's safe on the deck. You tube probably has a hundred videos.
