Barracuda G not doing a good job

Hi all,

I have a 30K gallon plaster pool with a pentair variable speed pump.
I have a Zodiac Barracuda G2 or G3. It's an old one, it does not have a bumper (ring).
The unit's pattern is not random enough, it tends to follow the same paths. I usually have to add or remove lengths to the hose so it will get to all areas of the pool.
I would like the sweeper to be trouble free, would anyone recommend I upgrade to a different unit?

How old is it? Diaphragms need to be replaced regularly.

What RPM are you setting your pump to get the cleaner to move?
