hayward matrix 1.5 hp wont turn on after turning off (new unit)?

I have a newish hayward 1.5 matrix pump.. today i was working on the solar valve actuator.. in testing the actuator while the pump was on, the valve moved to the rightward position (which blocks the flow to the return but allows water to go through the panels and back to the return), in doing so it created bubbles and went a bit nuts.. so i hurried shut the pump off.. figured no harm..

Well, i fixed the actuator positioning and then tried to turn the pump on.. it wont turn on.. just warm to the touch on the motor housing..

Any suggestions.. or ideas on what might have happened?
