Good day!
I am planning to replace my current single speed pump to 2 speed.
Pump is on for 8 hours per day, and meter shows around 25 kwh daily. since I haven't moved in yet, so assume 80%+ are consumed by pump alone. rate: 0.10-0.11$/kwh.
Current pump: 2 hp, 230v, 10.5 amp, inlet horizontal, outlet vertical.
After reading the articles, I suppose the 2 speed pump suits better.
Considering myself as weak DIYer, may I have your advice on a few queries?
1. what is the right power for the pool? 1 hp, 1.5 hp?
2. how difficult is the plumbing to replace the pump?
3. current voltage is 230, so electric wiring should be easy part, am I right?
Pool info: 14000 gallon pool with SWG, I don't think there is heater involved.
