1.5in to 2in transition

Hi,

My new pump and filter have 2in connections. My existing return and pump lines are 1.5in flex pipe. Should I transition to 2in right where they come out of the ground, or as close to the pump and filter as possible?

I'd do it closer to the ground. The larger internal diameter elbows will flow better.
