My system consists of a Variflo VS pump, an Intellichlor IC40, and a MasterTemp 250. Prior to this year my equipment all worked perfectly, independently of one another. This year I decided to integrate them all with an Intellitouch system, consisting of a Power Center with an I5+3 personality board. The pump and heater are directly connected to 240v power, not through Power Center relays. The IC40 is powered through the integrated chlorinator transformer in the Power Center and is cycled through the pump relay (per the manual). I have a pool only--no spa. I believe I have made all the correct connections, and the ScreenLogic app appears to work--certainly monitors the system. And ScreenLogic seems to control the pump as one would expect. But I am having some problems controlling the other elements of the system, possibly due to incorrect configuration of ScreenLogic (I find the User Manual and other instructions to be remarkably uninformative!). My issues:
1. The heater. When disconnected from the personality board (with the control leads jumped, thus returning it to stand alone mode), it works perfectly, just as it always has. But when connected to the personality board, it does not fire--even though according to the ScreenLogic screen it is on (red button), and even though the heater relay light on the outdoor control panel lights up as if the heater is on (but it's not). Do I correctly understand that the heater should fire when the "Low Temp" circuit is on and the water temperature is below the set point? Is the "High Temp" circuit irrelevant, only intended for a spa, if I had one? How should ScreenLogic be configured to properly control the heater?
2. The chlorinator. Sometimes the lights on the unit are on; sometimes they are not. Nevertheless, even when the lights are not on, ScreenLogic has a salt level read-out--but it won't ever let me run the superchlorination feature. Are the outdoor lights on the IC40 supposed to light up whenever the unit is operating, or is it operating via ScreenLogic even when the lights are not lit on the unit itself? How is the chlorination function properly configured in ScreenLogic?
Is there a tutorial or any instructions better than the included (multiple) manuals that would help with the configuration process?
Any advice would be most welcome.
