Anthony Pools Apollo VA-52 DE Filter - slight leak at seal?

Hi,

I have an Anthony DE pool filter. It is an older copper style unit.

It is leaking where the bolt tightens up (part 11).

When i opened the container, I think i had some sand / de on it - closed it, it leaked, I reopened it, washed it off with a hose (both sides). Leak is much smaller. Any advice would be great!

Did you put some pool lube on the o-ring when reassembling it? If not, I'd try that. Also make sure all the sealing surfaces are clean.

I didn't use pool lube. Can I use something else handy? Wd40?

A magic chlorine to bleach type of solution?

I would only use a silicone based lube. I would not use WD-40 as it will damage your O-ring.
