I just purchased a 24 foot round intex pool to start out first time pool owners. I would like to use salt water. I think I need a 1.5 horsepower pump. Can anyone tell me what upgrade of pump to this size and what salt water system to get to go with this pool, please.

I think 1.5 hp might be overkill. I bought a 1 hp from Wal Mart last year for $229 and it has been great. It's more pump than I need, but would work well for you.
Also, the larger Intex SWG (the 12 g/hr Cl model) would work too.
