hello from MD! looking for help!

    Hello from MD,

Had a heck of a time keeping the pool clear towards the end of last summer and spent way too much money at a pool place buying the chemicals they recommended we add. Ended up not being able to cover it over fall & winter and now have a crazy mess on our hands. I've been scooping out leaves but am unsure of how to proceed after that. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Well hello there! You have come to the right place! That kind of mess is what we LOVE to help take care of. Here are your "jobs":

-read this-https://www.troublefreepool.com/content/123-abc-of-pool-water-chemistry It is a LOT of info. but it all start to make sense when you start using it.

-Go here and order the TF-100 XL TFTestkits.net See here at TFP we are all about doing our own testing as we have found time after time after time the Pool $tores get the results wrong more than they get them right

-Keep scooping while you are waiting for you test kit

-Read this: Pool School - SLAM - Shock Level And Maintain This is what you will be doing to your pool once you get your test kit. THIS will clear your pool up once you get all of the solid yuck out.

we can help you get your pool looking great again and teach you how to keep it looking that way!

    Welcome,

Glad you joined, and now worries! We can get you started, and finished but a key thing to learn as Kim said are the ABCs. Everything we do is based on fundamental knowledge, understanding, and testing your own water. Much, much easier than you might imagine, but there are plenty of folks around who love to help. Enjoy the forums!
