Cleaning Pentair FNS Plus 60 DE Filter

I just successfully finished cleaning my Pentair FNS Plus 60 DE filter thanks to jblizzle's tutorial:

This was my first time cleaning it myself since taking over my pool from the PB last August. I had not planned to take the grids out this time but after I got it apart, it was obvious that I would be doing it again soon if I didn't give it a thorough cleaning. The instructions and photos walked me through it and after about a three hour process, it is back together and running perfectly!

The good news is that you'll do it much quicker next time...

With a VS pump, I never backwash my DE filters anymore... I just clean them about twice a year.
