I recently installed a stenner pump with a 15 gallon drum from uline, as seen here. Did anyone install any type of breather value or something to let the drum breathe/vent? Nothing big just like a tiny hole on the upper side or something.
I'd recommend some type of breather, as depending on how well your pickup line is sealed where it enters the tank, the draw from the pump can cause the tank to collapse (happened first time out with my Stenner tank fortunately I was able to get it back into shape). If you install the spill recovery line between the bottom of the pump and the tank, I think it should act sufficiently as a breather without allowing rainwater and other crud inside..
Wanted to bring this thread back around since I had this same question. I'll be adding a Stenner pump come pool opening time and I figure there might be a few more people doing the same.
Does anyone use any sort of breather in their bleach storage tank??
I melted a very tiny hole in the removable cap using a sewing needle heated with a small flame. Works great for me. No breather cloth or material needed.
