Vinyl corner repairs

First time pool owner, first time posting.

We bought a house with a pool (pool info in signature) and were aware going in that it needed a new liner. What we did not know is that this late in the season there are no companies in our area with availability to do it. We have booked it for the spring time and now have a need to make some temporary repairs.

The vinyl in 2 corners has come out of the coping and sagged down about 6 inches. This leaves about 20 inches (linear) of coping that has no vinyl in it. We thought about heating it and attempting to stretch it back, but are concerned about tearing it and causing more problems. Can we just buy a few large patch kits and give it a good college try? Clearly the patch kits will not set into the coping correctly if at all, so we would need to be a bit resourceful for that portion...

The pool was not properly maintained for a number of years and we will be fixing all of the issues when the liner is redone. We just need to get through the next 45 days or so of swimming season.

From what I have seen on the forum a little heat can do a pretty good job helping get the liner back in place. Although I have no personal experience with it.
