Hi! I have a question that I was hoping could be answered here. I would like to change out my old (early 90's) Hayward Filter/Pump to a new Sand Filter/Pump. Am I able to do that, or does it have to be the same kind of pump as the original? Very confusing. I have an above ground Esther Williams pool that is 12 x 18 oval. Thanks!!!

You can change it. May people upgrade/change their pump/filter over time. Just plan ahead and look at the plumbing to ensure it fits or you have the correct fitting to accommodate the new pump/filter. Also make sure the electrical requirements are the same.
