We we are in the processes of building a new IG pool. Nothing fancy; a basic 16x34, ~20k gallon, Gunite/plaster, a bench accross the entire back wall with ~ 1000 sq ft of decking with 5 deck jets.
Our previous pool pool was much more ornate; free form, grey color plaster, sun shelf, water fall, etc... We loved that pool, but realized we almost never ran the water fall or used the sun shelf. Both were pretty big dirt traps so we omitted them this time. The look of grey plaster, lighter than "Tahoe blue" ,was nice but made our pool very hot in July/Aug...it would exceed 90* from just the sun. We attributed the grey plaster as an attributing factor to holding heat. The deck jets in the pool are almost exclusively to run at night and cool the water a bit if necessary.
We we are running a 60 sq ft pentair DE filter, Hayward 1.5HP VS pump, and dual low voltage small for factor LEDs.
Its in in gunite now, was execuvated on 6/1, should be swimming by July 4th.
