I have an above ground pool and I pushed and held the reset button down to turn off the pump instead of the test button. Now it won't turn back on. Any suggestions?
Are you talking about on the GFCI on the plug for the pump? You should not be using those buttons to turn on and off the pump. If you plug it in and push the reset button then it should turn on.
I'm not sure what it's called. It's right where you plug it into the wall. I don't see anyplace else that you would turn it on and off. We had been hitting the test button to turn it off, but someone else went to turn it off and didn't know which button to use. Now it won't come back on at all.
Well, that is not the purpose of the GFCI on the plug, so you may have broken it.
Plug it into the wall (where power should be available, make sure the house breaker is not thrown).
Push the Reset button (the test button should pop out).
It should then be on.
If not, then it might be damaged.
