I don't want to over-think this but given that DE has some negative respiratory issues, how is the best way to collect/dispose of the spent back-wash material?
The slime bag people also make a DE capture bag although they don't suggest using it for all of your DE discharge, it is more of water conservation device.

Thanks guys, I couldn't find a way to delete this thread after discovering the other thread. I think trying to use some kind of disposable filter bag at the end of the discharge hose seems like a possibility.
