This is my personal version of a skimmer sock.
I needed a way to distribute CYA without having to babysit it. I purchased a 3-pack of Control Top pantyhose at the grocery store (approx. $6.99, Leslie's has a single skimmer liner for $13.99), cut the legs off after tying knots and then inserted one pair in each skimmer.
The control top is woven thicker and tighter and make an excellent, well-fitted skimmer sock. I believe my skimmer basket is a 6" Hayward. This has been great for CYA, I poured it in and by morning it was all gone.
