A couple days ago, I added granular boric acid to my pool, according to what PoolMath advised. Apparently I have overestimated the size of my pool or something, because my AquaChek borate test strips are telling me that my borate level is now at 80 ppm.
Not knowing how accurate the AquaChek strips are, I have some LaMotte borate test strips on order as I type.
My question is: If my borate truly is at ~80 ppm, how much of a problem is this? Is a partial drain/fill justified?
