Hello Everyone,
It looks like I have a pump shaft leak, I can see it flowing just a bit when the pump is running. If I close the knob by the pump basket and close the filter, is it then possible to remove the pump without having to drain everything or will water still try to drain from the hose that connects the filter to the pump? I have a typical above ground setup with a sand filter, I'm just not positive how the "flow" works between filter and pump. I know that closing the knob by the pump basket it won't flow from there, but didn't know if closing the filter will keep water from flowing out of the hose that is connected to the pump.
Also, is it a tough job to fix a shaft leak or should I take the pump to the pool store?
Thanks every one!
