Put the rock in the basket BEFORE you put the hair net in. That way you don't have to fish out the dirty rock and clean it off.

I've been using the hairnets for a few months and think it's the greatest thing. Cheap and very effective with pine tree pollen and all the other small mess that would otherwise get thru my skimmer basket and cleaner's leaf basket. I've had the same pressure reading on my filter after 3 months of heavy pollen and debris that is too small for the baskets to catch. It's the best!
