Green Pool in Thailand

Rather than stressing your SWG, shut it off and use only liquid chlorine/bleach when needed and SLAM that puppy. Do you know how to slam? You can use a 5 ml sample and count each drop as 1.0 for now to save on precious reagents.

Brush your pool a ton and maybe take a toothbrush to those small grout lines. Check also in your return, skimmer, light, and other fittings for any places you can scrub away algae. Algae develops a biofilm which is chlorine resistant, so help it along by scratching the biofilm coating with aggressive brushing everywhere.

You more than likely have organic staining which is normal in a pool that's been green for awhile. To get rid of it, you should hold the chlorine level slightly higher than what is recommended for daily FC/CYA and brush the pool more often than not. It will eventually go away.
